Split Polymer Labyrinth Seal (SPLS)
The SPLS is a non-contact, unitized three-piece seal designed for splash-lubricated bearing protection in large pumps, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment. Its split design allows for quick installation without disassembling equipment, reducing downtime and simplifying maintenance. The thermoset polymer rotor, integrated valve, and stator work together to retain lubrication and block contaminants using centrifugal force and gravity.
Built for rugged industrial environments, the SPLS helps prevent shaft fretting and extends the service life of bearings and gearboxes. It operates at speeds up to 30.5 m/s, handles shaft eccentricity up to 0.75 mm, and is IP65 rated for dust and water protection. Available in standard or custom sizes, this seal is a reliable choice for industries such as mining, pulp and paper, hydropower, and water treatment.
