Polymer Labyrinth Seal (PLS)

The Chesterton Polymer Labyrinth Seal (PLS) is a precision-engineered, non-contact bearing seal designed to protect pumps, motors, gearboxes, and other rotating equipment in splash-lubricated or oil-mist environments. Its advanced three-piece design, which includes a rotor, stator, and integrated valve system, effectively blocks contaminants, prevents lubricant leakage, and extends machinery service life.

Constructed from a proprietary, high-performance polymer, the PLS provides reliable operation at temperatures from –50°C to 60°C and shaft speeds up to 6,000 feet per minute (30.5 m/s). The material’s durable, corrosion-resistant, and non-sparking characteristics ensure consistent performance in demanding conditions. Engineered for long-term reliability, the PLS delivers excellent chemical resistance, low maintenance requirements, and dependable sealing in harsh environments. It is ideal for use in industries such as pulp and paper, petrochemical, chemical processing, power generation, and wastewater treatment where equipment protection and uptime are essential.
