OUR HISTORY
In 1980, after five years selling fluid sealing to industry, Mike Burdick made the decision to strike out on his own, imagining the success and control he could have while he was building a company based on the growth model that he believed in.
He made applications to relevant manufacturing companies to become their exclusive representative in Western Canada and Progressive Sealing was born.
Both Mike and B.G. Burdick were involved from inception, with Mike taking the lead while they began their own family. The company began covering British Columbia and Alberta with two offices, 9 employees and a drive to grow.
Growth was necessary and tantamount to success. There was stiff competition but there was also confidence and a strong, loyal sales team. The inside staff gave excellent customer service and the sales force travelled extensively in good weather and bad, a novelty at the time.
Success came in increments. At the core was the business model of exclusive lines, attention to gross profit and the family values that extended to all employees. The company believed in high levels of customer service that continue to the present day. The sales team were highly technical, decidedly focused and “Never Give Up” became a mantra.
As owners and operators of Progressive Sealing, Mike and B.G. are proud of the group of committed people that call this company their work home. It is because of this superb team and its continued dedication and loyalty that the company continues to thrive and celebrate record growth.
